I don't know why scarecrows are not scarier. They look scary and have a scary name. Let's see if this film can make them scary shall we....nope. We open with the story of a murder that some terrible acting stoners are telling in a cornfield. The stories become our movie with thirty year olds acting like they are in high school. They do a great job of establishing our lead as bullied by everyone around him. You do start to feel bad for him even though he is clearly in his thirties. A lot of time and effort went into making this film I'm sure, but the acting and dialog are holding this movie back. This is modern day shlock, from the cheesy premise to the horrible horrible dialog. I'm pretty sure the mom and boyfriend are two completely different people from one scene to another. Some of the kills are fun, but not executed in a way that highlight the uniqueness. I give this a 4 out of 10. This is poorly written among many other flaws. The performances need to be perfect to pull off this level of hokey.
